What's Involved
First, you need to learn a little bit about rats and their behaviour. There is a reason they've been around for millions of years. That reason: they LEARN. We tend to think of rats as "stupid" rodents. That fact is, however, that they do indeed learn from what they encounter. If, for example, a rat sees another rat eat poison bait and then die, that rat will learn to avoid that particular food source. If a rat sees another rat dead in a trap, he or she will learn to avoid THAT trap.
So, the key becomes learning how to "teach" rats that certain threats are harmless, so that they get "taken" by the threat when they don't fear it.
